1. Mayim Balik (Amy) is the only cast member who holds a PhD.
She earned a PhD in Neuroscience in 2008.
2. Raj's inability to talk to women in earlier seasons is based on an executive producer's old co-worker.
Like Raj, the co-worker was only able to talk to women while under the influence of alcohol.
3. Kayley Cuoco (Penny) has used the same purse throughout almost all 12 seasons of the show.
4. All the floors (except the first floor) of Sheldon and Leonard's building are actually the same set - they are just redecorated to look different.

12. In the opening credits of season 2-4 all the characters, excluding Leonard, are eating pizza on the sofa.
13. Both Penny's and Leonard's apartments have doorbells which have never been used throughout the series.
14. Even though all the the gang loves Star Wars and Star Trek, none of the cast members are fans of the universes.
15. Sheldon's favourite song 'Soft kitty, warm kitty' is an Australian nursery rhyme that was also featured on an Australian children's show.
There are also 2 more verses in the full song involving a turtle and a bunny.
16. Every episode sees at least one character (if not all) eat food.
However, the actors rarely eat it, choosing to pick at it or spit it out in between takes.
17. Penny is wearing the same shirt in the pilot, the 100th episode and the final scene of the show.
