Things You Have To Try At Least Once In Your 20s

As a young woman in her mid-20s, I can honestly say that there are a lot of things that I want to try at least once during this decade. I do think that I have done a lot, and that I am mature for my age, but I don’t want the feeling of regret to take over my life later on. There are many things to do before you hit your 30s! Sometimes I take life too seriously, and I want to let loose as well. I don’t want to look back several years from now and wonder why I was so “serious” when I was younger. These years are supposed to be the time of our lives, right?

1. Connect with your family

I’m going to guess that you might not have had the most perfect relationship with your family when you were a teenager. This is something that happens to many people, but as an adult, you should be trying to reconnect and re-establish relationships with family members.

2. Determine your passion

When you first find that “real” job, you may be swept away by the money aspect, but what is it that you want to do?

This is a really important part of living a happy life. If you’re just spending your time working a job you don’t really like, you’re kind of just existing rather than living.

3. Find a type of exercise that you enjoy

Exercise is a lot of fun if you are doing something that you actually enjoy. There are lots of options out there; yoga, basketball, soccer, hiking, walking, or even salsa.

4. Learn to cook a few healthy meals

Take-out food is expensive (and normally pretty unhealthy). Learn to cook a few meals that you love so you can always eat something delicious and healthy. What you ate would be reflected by your body in your 30s.

5. Stay up all night having fun with your friends

A consistent sleep schedule is your best bet for energy to carry you through the day, but who says you can’t break the rules on occasion? Go to a club, concert, or bar with your friends. Have a blast until the place shuts down and then go to an all-night diner for coffee and conversation. Memories are made up of things like late nights with the people you care about most.

6. Do some Scary – Crazy things

Have you ever thought about flying on an airplane, going bungee jumping, diving in a shark tank or zipping-line through a rainforest? I’m sure you’ve seen pictures of your friends or acquaintances doing this and have wondered or dreamed about doing the same. Well, what’s stopping you?

7. Donate Blood

Nobody really likes getting the needle. After donating blood just once you can help save the lives of up to three people. So stop being so stingy and go to your local blood donation center.

8. Start get rid of your debt

You might think that everyone has debt, but you don’t have to. I don’t care what the statistics are and I don’t care if everyone else has debt. Get rid of it!

Make your debt disappear in your twenties so you have the extra income in your thirties for other responsibilities.

9. Travel ALONE

While it’s wonderful to share a special trip and new experiences with friends, a partner, or family, there’s a compelling case for travel alone from time to time.

The summer is almost upon us. Why not choose an eye catching passport holder, pack up and go!

Taking an adventure by yourself will help you grow your perspective. It’s means you get to do everything that you want to do, and it will make you more independent and self-reliant.
