Now it appears that Selena has not only seen the pictures of her body being scrutinised on the internet, but has responded with a carefree holiday video on Instagram, which includes a telling caption about "the beauty myth".
In the caption, Selena talks about the "obsession with physical perfection" and how it traps modern women, before saying that she chooses to "take care of myself because I want to, not to prove anything to anyone".
Fans immediately flooded her comments with messages of love and support.
And rightfully called her "too good and pure for this world".
