A sensory deprivation chamber is pretty much exactly what it sounds like: a sound-proof, pitch-black tank filled with extremely salty water, allowing the body to float in a void.

Float tanks are said to inspire creativity and reduce stress, depression, anxiety, and PTSD.

Some of the participants were looking forward to the healing properties of this experiment...

...While some were worried it was going to drive them crazy:

"These chambers take you into yourself to a place you've never been."

It was time to dive into the depths!

They sensation of floating made their bodies dissolve.

And time passed differently.

They all found serenity just being with their thoughts.

This guy even had the revelation that he distracts himself too much with his phone.

"Don't be afraid to be alone with your thoughts."
