Places To Nap - 7 Good And Bad Spots For Your Consideration

Regular sleep can be hard to come by in college, so learning how to powernap in creative locations is a valuable skill. But not all spots are created equal at Bellarmine University.

1. Check out an ENO

Take a quick detour to the SuRF and check out a hammock! Stretch out between two columns in the Quad, or between close trees. Now you can take your nap outside without worrying ants will carry you away.

2. Your Car

Commuters, this could be your personal sanctuary. If it's nice out, roll down your windows and turn up the Enya. Soothing tunes not your bag? Roll the windows up to hush our busy campus. Depending on your car, you might even be able to completely stretch out if you fold down some seats.

Some disclaimers, though: car napping is for temperate weather only. If it's too hot or cold outside, stick to the indoors. A sunburn or some frostbite while napping is not what we are going for here.

3. Your Residence Hall

Nothing beats your own bed, and if it's within walking distance and you have the time... why not?

4. Any lobby with a couch

Several of the main common areas in buildings around campus have couches and chairs. If you have a class coming up, you could find a nearby couch and nap until time to go to class.

5. BAD: Class

This is a great option if you want to get both pranked and a poor grade.

6. BAD: Study Rooms in the Library

Yes, they're crazy quiet. You will also make panicked midterm or finals crammers very upset.

7. BAD: On A SuRF Bench

No, you cannot lift that weight in your sleep. Just stop.
