St. Matthew was an apostle of Jesus Christ, but before that he was a tax collector in Galilee. He is known for writing one of the four gospels of the New Testament. He is the patron saint of accountants and bankers.

He was born in Cartagena, Spain in 560, and was known for being the first Christian writer to attempt to compile a summa of universal knowledge, called the Etymologiae. He is the patron saint of the internet, programmers, and students.

St. Genesius of Rome was once a 3rd century comedian who performed plays mocking Christianity. However, while performing for Emperor Diocletian, he had a vision on stage that compelled him to convert to Christianity. He is the patron saint of the performing arts.

Pope St. Gregory the Great was born in 540, and began his papacy in 590. He was a prolific writer, and the first pope to come from a monastic background. He is known for contributing to the modern education system, and for instigating the first recorded large-scale mission from Rome. He is the patron saint of students, teachers, and musicians.

St. Francis de Sales was a Bishop of Geneva, born in 1567. He is known for his writings, particularly his Introduction on the Devout Life and Treatise on the Love of God. He is the patron saint of writers and journalists.

St. Bede was an English monk born in 672, who was known as an author, scholar, linguist and translator. His translations helped make the writings of the early Church Fathers more accessible to other Anglo-Saxons. He is the patron saint of English writers and historians.

St. Hubert of Liege was a French hunter born in Toulouse around 656. After his wife died giving birth to their son, he spent most of his time hunting. However, on Good Friday, he reportedly saw a vision of a crucifix between the antlers of a stag, and converted. He is known for his miracles, and is the patron saint of hunters and mathematicians.
