Do You Know Which Waters Will Be Protected After The Supreme Court Meets In October?

Aka "Is it WOTUS after SCOTUS?" The Supreme Court (SCOTUS) will hear a case in October that will decide the extent of protections for wetlands, streams and other aquatic resources (called Waters of the United States, or WOTUS). One likely scenario is that SCOTUS will decide that only navigable rivers and lakes, tributaries with continuous surface water connections, and wetlands adjacent to those that have a surface water connection will retain federal protection. Intermittent and ephemeral streams and wetlands without surface water connection and continuous flow would likely lose federal protection (they could still have state protection). We thought it would be fun (/alarming) to create a little quiz to see if you can sort out what aquatic resources will be considered WOTUS based on the scenario we noted above. Ready for a quiz?
