    Choosing A Wedding Photographers

With your wedding day almost here you really need to choose a photographer. This task can be daunting as hiring the right photographer can have a lasting impact. The following tips will help you choose the right photographer that will capture all of the memories of your special day.

    Take Into Account Experience

Some of the best Washington DC wedding photographers have years of experience. They have worked for many years perfecting their photography skills. When visiting potential photographers, ask to see a portfolio of their work. In it you should see various aspects of the wedding and not just photos of the bride, groom and the wedding party. You want a photographer that’s experienced enough to know that they need to capture all of the different moments of the wedding like the father and daughter walking down the aisle, the first dance and the cutting of the cake. If you do want to go with someone who has less experience because they have an amazing portfolio, make sure that their price reflects their lack of past clients. You might even be able to barter a lower rate in return of a positive reference if they do a good job.

Check Their References Or Online Reviews

A good photographer should have references available. You should be able to speak to past clients about their experience with the photographer. If they don’t have references, make sure that you check out their reviews. You can find out a lot about Washington DC wedding photographers by doing a simple search on the internet to see what others are saying about them. A good place to start is on websites like Yelp or Facebook. If they overall have bad reviews then you really should go with someone else. Also, be sure to talk to those around you to see if they have used a photographer in the past that they can recommend. Sometimes friends and family members know of a good photographer that they have used for some of their photos.

    The Going Rate For Pictures

While this shouldn’t be the only factor when it comes to choosing a wedding photographer, you must keep it in mind, especially when you have a budget. The old adage “you get what you pay for”, doesn’t always apply when it comes to wedding photographers. Many photographers know that brides and grooms tend to be on a budget so they try to keep their prices reasonable. Make sure you shop around so you can try to figure out the going rate of wedding photographers. Now, if you come across someone who’s prices are way above or way below that of what the average other photographers in your area are charging, it’s a good indication that you should probably stay away from them in order to not risk getting scammed out of your hard earned money.

    Their Availability

Right up front you need to make sure that the wedding photographer will be available for not just the wedding, but other important events as well. This may include the wedding rehearsal and bridal shower. You might find that you want to capture all of these events and not just the actual wedding day. When interviewing wedding photographers find out their availability around the day of your wedding and inquire as to how much notice that they usually need in order to make themselves available for days outside of your actual wedding for other events as well. Some photographers might only be available on the weekends so keep that in mind if you are needing someone to capture all the other special events that will be surrounding your actual wedding date.
