12 Ways The "Pretty Little Liars" Books Are Different From The Show

WARNING: CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR BOTH THE BOOKS AND FREEFORM SERIES!

If you're like 90% of the population, you too are incredibly sad that Pretty Little Liars is over.

Lucky for us, I Marlene King hasn't left us in the dark, as the PLL spin off "The Perfectionists" is on it's way to our screens.

As we desperately wait for the spin off, some fans of the show turn to Sara Shepard's books (which inspired the show) for comfort in these hard times.

Fans of the books may also realize that there are some very significant differences between the books and the show. Well, that;s why I'm here. To educate all of you on the some of the more noticeable differences between the PLL books and show. Enjoy!

1. Caleb Rivers

Hate to break it to all of you hard core Haleb shippers, but not only did Hanna and Caleb never date, but Caleb Rivers wasn't even a character in the books. I know, I know, it's terrible. But, Hanna did date Mike Montgomery for a large portion of the books, and they were actually pretty cute.

2. Mona dies.

Yeah, so like in the television show, Mona does die. Except this time, it's for real. Also, like in the show, Mona was revealed to be the first A in the books, only when she falls off a cliff fighting Spencer, she doesn't survive.

3. Ezria lasts for like 2 seconds.

Yeah, so like in the show, Ezra and Aria do meet in the bar and make out in the bathroom. And, yes, Ezra does turn out to be Aria's teacher too. But, unlike in the show, A ends up ratting out Ezra to the police, and Ezra ends up getting arrested. Aria actually ends up dating Noel Kahn (who actually is a pretty great guy in the books) and their one of the best couples in the books.

4. Toby is the worst.

Sorry Spoby lovers, but Spencer and Toby never date in the books. Toby's actually a total creep in the books. He abuses his step sister, Jenna, and does a bunch of other horrible things. Eventually, he kills himself, so...yeah.

5. Jenna dies too.

Oh yeah, and along with Toby, Jenna dies as well. She was murdered like everyone else and that's pretty much it.

6. Sara Harvey doesn't exist.

Good old Shower Harvey doesn't exist either. And the whole creepy "dollhouse" isn't a thing either.

7. Emily gets pregnant.

Don't worry Emison fans, Emily is still in love with Alison, but unlike the show, she does date her fare share of boys along with girls. She dates a guy named Issac who is responsible for her pregnancy. After giving birth, she puts the baby up for adoption.

8. There's no N.A.T club.

Remember Jason, Ian, and Garret's creep little pervert gang. Yeah, that never happens in the books.

9. Paige doesn't exist either.

Remember Emily's long time lover Paige McCullers? Yep, she doesn't exits either. But never fear, Maya and Emily were a thing in the books.

10. Detective Wilden is actually a pretty decent guy.

Unlike the complete douche bag in the TV show, Detective Wilden was actually a pretty good guy in the books who met a much better fate in the books than in the show.

11. Allie's disappearance and eventual "death" was much different.

In the show, Ali disappeared during a sleepover and her body turned up the next year at the start of junior year. In the books, however, Ali diapered at the end of 7th grade and stayed gone for 3 years until eventually being found.

12. Charlotte and Ali

Oh, boy. This one's gonna be a long one. Okay, so in the books, Charlotte's name is Courtney and is actually Ali's twin sister. In the books, Ali's actually a complete psycho who frames Courtney for being crazy because Ali was jealous of her. Their parents send Courtney to Radley, but while Courtney is home on a visit, she fools Alison and switches places with her, which sends Ali to Radley as Courtney.
