Chris Pratt Sincerely Apologizes To Hard-Of-Hearing Fans In ASL On Instagram

"More than 38 million Americans live with some sort of hearing disability. So I want to apologize."

Earlier this week, our favorite Instagrammer Chris Pratt uploaded a video* to his Instagram where he asked viewers to listen with the volume on instead of reading the subtitles. Almost immediately after he uploaded the video, Pratt's followers began criticizing him for not being sensitive to viewers who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Well, in typical Chris Pratt fashion, the actor made a follow-up video to issue one of the best and most sincere apologies he possibly could have.

In the video, Chris makes an important gesture by apologizing entirely in American Sign Language, saying in the caption: "Now... I know some of you are going to say, 'Hey! Chris only apologized because his publicist made him!' Well. That is not the case. As always I control my social media. Nobody else. And I am doing this because I'm actually really sorry."

He goes on to say, "Apologies are powerful. I don't dole them out Willy-Nilly. This is one of those moments where I screwed up and here's me begging your pardon. I hope you accept my apology."

Chris then ends his caption with a call for Instagram to make closed-captioning an option on its app for those with hearing impairments.

As always, Chris Pratt is a perfect example of what a human should be.
