Contouring Is Out, Strobing Makeup Is Taking Over The Internet

People have been contouring their faces for a while now.

A ton of shading and highlighting goes into sculpting a face with makeup.

And it can make a huge difference.

But it's also a TON of work that doesn't always pay off.

So Instagram is officially giving up on contouring in favor of "strobing."

Instead of using a darker color and a lighter color to chisel the face with makeup, all you do is use highlighter.

Dab it on your cheekbones, the bridge of your nose and your lips.

It really brightens up the face!

And it takes much, much less work.

Which means it's way harder to mess up.

You can use a dewy, sheer highlighter like this one.

Or make things really easy with a highlighter stick.

All you have to do is find your light!

And strobe the night away.
