Using extensions for more length and volume, her stylist used hairspray on each section and used a 1" curling iron for some subtle waves. Next, she separated hair into three sections, clipping the two sides out of the way towards the front. She created a pull-through braid with the middle section in the back. Then she braided one side and pinned in to the middle braid, making one big braid. She sprayed hairspray again and then pulled the pieces apart to create more volume to the style.

On Janelle's eyes, her makeup artist Jessica Smalls used a soft brown shadow all over. Then Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill Eye Quattro Eyeshadow in 8 Festival — the rust color in her crease and the deep brown on the outer corners. She finished with Smooth Silk Eye Pencil in 4 black to create the winged line, then Black Ecstasy Mascara on her lashes.
Makeup artist Sarah Tanno finished the look with Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara on the top and bottom lashes.
Emily's hairstylist Laini Reeves started with The One by Frédéric Fekkai One to Believe In Leave-In Conditioner and blew the hair dry with the FHI Heat Platform Limited Edition Chrome Hair Dryer in Rose Gold. She twisted strands of hair around her fingers to create texture. Then she used a 1 1/2” curling iron to get even more waves. After all that drying, she applied Dry Texturizing Spray and raked her fingers through to really amp up the volume. She created the fishtail braid and secured it in a halo shape around the back of Emily's head. The pieces in the front were styled using a 1” flat iron. The whole look was finished with hairspray and then BAM it hit the red carpet.
