The novel follows the story of a girl named Paige, who gets pulled out of her regular life and stars in a movie based on a book. She also has to face love triangles on and off screen. Carter Jenkins plays one of the love interests of Bella Throne's character. Jenkins portrays Rainer Devon, a Hollywood movie star who took an interest in Paige. HIs character is shown struggling with an alcohol addiction

Jake Salt, played by Charlie Depew, is another one of Paige's love interest. Jake Salt is one of Paige's college roommate and friend. Early in season one, he admitted that he is in love with Paige but she said that they should just stay as friends.

Georgie Flores portrays Cassandra "Cassie" Perkins, Paige's other college roommate and aspiring actress. Cassie was the one who pushed Paige to audition for the movie with her. Cassie has had her fair share of problems in the show starting with not getting the role she hoped for.

In season one, she and Jake had a brief relationship, but it was later revealed that she was just using him for her own advantage. Jordan Wilder is played by Keith Powers, a movie star that has a complicated relationship with Rainer as they both have a past with Tangey, a pop star, in the series. Tangey Turner, portrayed by Pepi Sonuga, is a famous pop star with a controlling mother. She is the key part of the love triangle with Rainer and Jordan as it is revealed that she was sleeping with Jordan while she was still dating Rainer.

Perrey Reeves is portraying Nina Devon, Rainer's mother/agent in the show. Nina is shown as to be confident yet manipulative and gets what she wants when she wants it and will stop for nothing to get it.

The season 1 finale was all jam-packed with drama and it was amazing, but the most shocking part of the finale was the death of Barrett Hopper.

Barrett Hopper, portrayed by Nathan Stewart-Jarrett, was a celebrity reporter who would stop at nothing to get the latest piece of celebrity gossip. His biggest enemies were Rainer and Nina Devon due to the fact of him always reporting negative content on Rainer. In the season finale, Hopper was shot and killed in a parking lot. One of many unanswered questions that need to be answered next season is who killed Barrett Hopper.
