    IHeart Radio Awards 2017

    A night of celebration of 2016's best music.

    The iHeart Radio Awards were held on March 5, 2017 and aired on TBS, TNT, and truTV. It was hosted by iHeart Radio and was filled with awards and performances.

    The night opened with a performance by Katy Perry. The first award, Song of the Year, went to Justin Timberlake for "Can't Stop the Feeling." He used his speech to tell young people that if they are ridiculed for being different, they should remember that people who are different make a difference.

    Big Sean performed his hit "Bounce Back." Florida Georgia Line announced The Chainsmokers as the Best New Artist. Noah Cyrus performed a duet with Labyrinth after her big sister Miley introduced her. The award for Country Artist of the Year went to Thomas Rhett.

    DJ Khaled announced Ed Sheeran's performance by telling the story of the two of them club hopping. Sheeran, who performed two songs, flew in the morning of the awards ceremony just to be there. Macklemore announced the award for the Best Lyrics, which went to Justin Bieber and Ed Sheeran for their song "Love Yourself."

    Demi Lovato announced the Chainsmokers' performance. The award for Dance Song of the Year went to "Hold Me Closer" by the Chainsmokers featuring Halsey. Fifth Harmony announced Thomas Rhett's performance. Coldplay's most recent tour, the Head Full of Dreams tour, won the award for Tour of the Year.

    Shawn Mendez performed his song, "Mercy." The Harmonizers, the fan army of Fifth Harmony, won the Best Fan Army Award. Bruno Mars won the iHeart Radio Innovator Award and he performed a medley of his most popular songs.
