Petra- Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade

One of the most famous and recognisable movies of all time- Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade was filmed in Petra, Jordan as the location for 'the canyon of the crescent moon' where Indie finds the cup of christ, defeats he bad guys and reduces his father. Basically its one of the most known scenes out there, and you, yes you! Can go and visit Petra (also known as one of the worlds seven wonders) all year round; however, it can get very very hot in summer so go early on in the morning with a tour guide.

Manhattan- Ghostbusters (1984 & 2016)

The fire-station featured as the headquarters in both the original ghostbusters and the reboot actually belongs to the "Hook and Ladder" company that is based in New York City (located at 14 North Moore Street at its intersection with Varick Street in the Tribeca neighborhood of Manhattan). You can visit this set all year round, but I think you may have to ask for permission to go inside...

Piccadilly Circus- Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows

Many locations in London where used as locations in the Harry Potter films; however, in the Deathly Hallows Harry, Ron and Hermione end up in Piccadilly Circus after the Deatheaters take over the wedding. This location is often overlooked by tourists as the place that the main characters go solo and fight alone against evil. Piccadilly Circus is open for visiting all year, but we don't recommend recreating scenes from this one (unless you plan on being hit by a double decker bus)

Fox Plaza- Die Hard (& Fight Club)

Fox's building was used as the set of many films, most notably 'Die Hard' while the plaza was under construction, and was used as the 'Nakatomi Plaza' in the movie, where all the action takes places and Bruce Willis defeats the bad guys. The outside of the building looks similar, but I'm sure the interior will have changed some what in the past 20 years or so...

Gorlitz Department Store- The Grand Budapest Hotel

This department store in Germany was used as the main location for the lobby in the "Grand Budapest Hotel", the store was scheduled to be destroyed just before the movie was filmed there (and luckily its still standing) as it reopened in 2016, so go and visit! Shop until you drop and imitate Ralph Fiennes while you're at it!

Skellig Micheal- Star Wars The Force Awakens & The Last Jedi

The island where Luke Skywalker hides in isolation before training Rey is called Skellig Micheal, which is just off the coast of Irelad. The island is pretty much the same in real life with its amazing views and mounds of stones (but no frog women unfortunately) and you won't become a Jedi master by just visiting.

Hatley Park- X-Men

The house was used as Charles Xaviers training school for mutants, as well as, being used in other films and programmes such as Deadpool, Disney Descendants and Arrow. The house is located in Canada, and is a marvel in itself. If you ever find yourself there, be on the look out for film crews!

Ahwahnee Hotel- The Shinning

Although "The Stanley Hotel" served as Steven Kings inspiration for The Shinning; the Ahwahnee Hotel was used for the interior shots of the film. The hotel is based in Yosemite National Park, California. So if you want a frightful experience I recommend this one... but, be on the look out for identical twins!

Manhattan Ventilation Building- Men In Black

This is the MIB headquarters in all 3 movies, and both Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones repeatedly go in and out of the building multiple times in the film. The building slips into the background of everyday life, just like the MIB like it....

169 east 71st street and lexington avenue- Breakfast At Tiffanys & Sleepless in Seattle

This street has been used in many... many films like Breakfast at Tiffanys and Sleepless in Seattle. The street is so gorgeous (just like the movie) and you can just see Audrey walking along it (it literally hasn't changed one bit)
