16 Characters The DCEU Should Definitely Introduce

How have we not seen these characters yet?!

It's almost been a decade since the DCEU's inception, and there is still a multitude of great characters that haven't appeared.

With such a vast and exceptional lineup of heroes and villains at the studio's disposal, it's a surprise we haven't seen many of them appear in DC's cinematic universe. But as this world continues to expand, let's hope we get to see these 16 characters make an appearance in the DCEU.

16. Vandal Savage

Born 50,000 years ago, Vandal Savage gained immortality after being exposed to a mysterious meteorite and has secretly lived on as some of the Earth's greatest conquerors. Though akin to Wolverine or the Mandarin, Savage's power also lies in his frightening intellect, which grew even more remarkable after millennia of living. If Savage were to appear in the DCEU, he could be one of the greatest foes the Justice League ever faced.

15. Brainiac

We really haven't seen many Superman villains appear on film, and it's a shock that Brainiac isn't among those that have. Known as the "Collector of Worlds," this alien scientist famously shrunk and stole the city of Kandor from Krypton in his continuous pursuit of knowledge. Possessing an army of drones and a "12th-level intellect," Brainiac is very much DC's version of Ultron, and if we ever do get a second Man of Steel film, let's hope he gets to make his big-screen debut.

14. Orion

Now that Darkseid has been officially introduced to the DCEU, we should now get to know his biological son, Orion. Traded to Highfather as part of a peace treaty, Orion grew up as a warrior of New Genesis dedicated to fighting off the forces of Apokolips. Though he has trouble controlling the rage inherited from his father, Orion is still a powerful agent of good, thanks to his fighting skills and control over the Astro Force. He is very much the Luke to Darkseid's Vader, and if anyone deserves to go toe-to-toe with the god of Apokolips, it's Orion.

13. Green Arrow

This legendary hero was already referenced in the DCEU series, Peacemaker, so hopefully, we'll get to see the Emerald Archer make his first cinematic appearance soon. And hopefully, we'll get to see him pair up with Jurnee Smollett's Black Canary and form the fans' next favorite couple.

12. Catwoman

Though we just got an outstanding new Catwoman in Zoë Kravitz, it would still be interesting to meet the one Ben Affleck's Batman met in his world. Since this Caped Crusader has already spent 20 years fighting crime, he and Catwoman could already have a long, shared history that would be fascinating to explore. If Affleck remains in the DCEU, that is.

11. The Red Hood

The death of Robin in the DCEU seemed like the filmmakers were setting up a live-action adaptation of "Under the Red Hood." But right now, the Robin we know to be dead isn't Jason Todd, but Dick Grayson. However, since we've never heard this outright stated in the films, the filmmakers could still retcon this and have Todd be the one who bit the dust, only to be brought back to fight Batman as the Red Hood.

10. Robin/Nightwing

If Jason Todd is reinstated as the DCEU's dead Robin, then we could also see Dick Grayson appear as Nightwing. Though we have witnessed Brenton Thwaites portray the character in Titans, Dick Grayson has still lacked a proper portrayal on film, both as Robin and Nightwing. But even if Grayson still doesn't appear in the DCEU, we should at least see someone else take up the mantle as Robin and fight alongside Batman in Gotham City.

9. Starfire

Though the Teen Titans have already been adapted in multiple shows, Starfire is a well-rounded character with a gripping and cosmic backstory that deserves her own film. All in all, this Tamaran princess would make an excellent addition to the DCEU, both as a member of the Justice League and a possible partner to Nightwing.

8. Hawkgirl

Since Hawkman is set to appear in Dwayne Johnson's Black Adam, the door is open for another Thanagarian warrior to join the DCEU. Thanks to Hawkgirl's popularity in the classic Justice League cartoon, fans would be delighted to see this character introduced to the DCEU as a member of the Justice League.

7. Mister Miracle

Born to Highfather on the planet New Genesis, Scott Free was exchanged with Darkseid's son, Orion, to end the war between their worlds. After years of living in the hellish Apokolips, Scott escaped to Earth and became the master escape artist, Mister Miracle. It would've been exciting to see him make his big-screen debut in Ava DuVernay's canceled New Gods film, but hopefully, we'll get to see him appear in another project soon.

6. Big Barda

If we do see Mister Miracle appear in the DCEU, let's not see him without Big Barda. Originally the leader of Darkseid's Female Furies, Barda fled from Apokolips after meeting Mister Miracle. The two of them fell in love and have since become one of DC's greatest power couples. Despite that, Barda is still a well-rounded character on her own, and her quest for redemption makes her one of the most fascinating characters in DC Comics.

5. Zatanna

Born with the ability to use magic, Zatanna uses her powers to work as a stage magician while protecting the world from evil. For years, fans have been pining to see her appear in the DCEU, and they may finally get their wish granted. Zatanna is currently having her own film developed with Promising Young Woman director/writer Emerald Fennell penning the script.

4. Reverse-Flash/Zoom

Fans have hoped that Barry Allen would face off against his greatest foe in the upcoming Flash film, but so far, it doesn't look like Reverse-Flash has been confirmed to appear. Hailing from the 25th century, Eobard Thawne is a speedster obsessed with replacing Barry as the Flash, going back in time and ruining his life however he can. Pretty much Barry's version of Joker or the Green Goblin, Thawne showing up in a film would make for an exciting and harrowing story as we see him try to destroy the Flash's life at every turn.

3. Poison Ivy

After Poison Ivy's appearance in the disastrous Batman & Robin, audiences have yet to see Warner Bros. do the character justice on the big screen. But if the studio decides to include the character in their cinematic universe, she doesn't have to appear as a villain. Instead, Ivy should join Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn in her next film, as fans would be delighted to see this iconic couple team up and for Harley to meet her one true love.

2. John Costantine

This hard-drinking, chain-smoking sorcerer has been a fan-favorite hero for years, making him the perfect character to introduce moviegoers to DC's world of dark arts. Since Matt Ryan has repeatedly portrayed Constantine in live-action and voiced him in animation, DC already has an ideal candidate to play the Hellblazer on the silver screen.

1. Green Lantern

How is it that we haven't gotten a Green Lantern film in the DCEU? We've already seen some Lanterns appear in Zack Snyder's Justice League, and we almost got to see Wayne T. Carr play John Stewart at the end of it (though we now have a photo of what could've been). A film about the Green Lantern Corps has long been in development hell, but hopefully, we'll see Carr truly shine as the Emerald Knight.
