2. She's good at facilitating difficult conversations

As a second year GA (like an RA but as a grad student), I handle conflict resolution situations not only between residents but with authorities & administrators. If you have an ethical concern with a professor or classmate I would have no problem addressing the individual or party about it in a professional and productive way. I'm not afraid of using my voice to advocate for the class and for you.

3. She's approachable

That's me, as a sponge. But really, by now you've all got a sense of my empathetic, level-headed, and caring personality. I'll make sure that concerns that are brought up to me remain private so you can feel comfortable expressing them.

How else could I have spent two hours on this Buzzfeed article amongst our #maycray? I understand that holding an ethics board position can be time consuming but it's something that I'm passionate about and something that I will consider my highest priority.

This year I won the "Creativity and Innovation" Award for my proposals as a GA. One of my ideas is to build on the ingenious email for ethical charges that the current board has made ([e-mail]). I think it would be useful to have an anonymous form where we can ask general questions to be posed to the administrative Ethics Board (Dr. Battaglia, Dr. Gluch, etc). This would be structured similar to what we had before our last ethics seminar and available all year round. It would prevent any ambiguity regarding the right course of action and answer questions like "are we ethically allowed to do ____?" that we might otherwise be apprehensive to ask in person. The answers to these important questions will be relayed transparently and in a timely manner to the class. Meanwhile the current gmail would be used for personal concerns, i.e personal charges that would need sources.
