I've been seeing a lot of hate for Taylor Swift's lyricism lately, particularly from indie music fans and magazines. While everyone is entitled to their own opinions about TTPD, I can't help but notice the thematic and stylistic similarities between Taylor Swift's lyrics and Sufjan Stevens' lyrics... and the harsh double standard that exists in how they are received (I adore them both, for the record).
