So, you've decided that your New Year's resolution is to lose weight.
You've probably already realized that there's going to be a lot of noise.
There will be people who shit all over your resolution.
And you’ll be inundated with a bunch of too-good-to-be-true tips to “lose weight fast."
There will be veteran gymgoers who complain about New Year's resolutioners crowding their space.
You might even feel conflicted about wanting to change your body when body positivity and acceptance is priority number one.
But if you're making this decision for yourself and going about it in a healthy way, then that's all noise you can just drown the fuck out.
Drown out the voice that says you can’t do it or that you're doomed to fail.
Ditch the shame of being a beginner or of being someone who has to hop back on the wagon.
Shut down the idea that you’re somehow wrong for wanting to change your body.
Destroy the expectation that you have to make huge strides toward your goals right out of the gate.
Know that there will be ups and downs.
But no matter what, remember that if you commit to something now, by this point next year, your effort will have made a difference.
