Raise Your Hands If You Think That Netflix Film Red Notice Has Something To Do With Taylor Swift’s Red (Taylor’s Version)

Stream Red Notice on Netflix, and All Too Well - 10 Minute Version!!

Netflix movie ‘Red Notice’ has a few similarities to Taylor Swift’s latest album ‘Red (Taylor’s Version)’. I listed those that I *noticed*. If I missed out any, feel free to add them in the comments! To me, I think that Red Notice is one whole Taylor Swift pun (or easter egg?)!

1. They have similar names.

The movie, starring Dwayne Johnson, Ryan Reynolds and Gal Gadot, is called '*Red* Notice', and the album is called '*Red* (Taylor's Version).

2. They have the same release date

Both 'Red Notice' and 'Red (Taylor's Version)' were released on 12 November 2021, Friday.

3. They use the same font

Although this isn't exactly reliable, as the Red Notice picture isn't the main promotional poster, but I still decided to put this here, as I thought it was still something.

4. "This is why we can't have nice things" is mentioned in the movie.

In Red Notice, Gal Gadot stated to Ryan Reynolds and Dwayne Johnson, "This is why we can't have nice things!"

Taylor Swift has a song with that exact same sentence as a title, in her 2017 album 'reputation'.

5. "X marks the spot" is also mentioned in the movie.

Nearing the end of the movie, Ryan Reynold says, "X marks the spot". Taylor Swift's Getaway Car from her album 'reputation' mentions "X marks the spot where we fell apart" in the pre-chorus.

6. The animal on the second egg in Red Notice is a serpent.

The characters played by Reynolds, Johnson, and Gadot, had to find three bejewelled eggs, each having an animal on it, a lion, a serpent, and an eagle. Taylor Swift adopted the serpent as her "mascot".

7. Ryan Reynolds acts in the show, and he was spotted with Taylor Swift, together with his wife Blake Lively, on Halloween.

Ed Sheeran made a cameo on Red Notice. Ed Sheeran is one of Taylor Swift's best friends. They did three collaborations in total so far, one song (End Game) in reputation, and two songs (Everything Has Changed and Run) in Red (Taylor's Version).
