Where the hell is Arianne Martell?

We asked members of the BuzzFeed Community their favorite parts of the A Song of Ice and Fire books that were left out of the Game of Thrones TV show. Here's what fans think was better in the books:

1. Lady Stoneheart aka murderous, zombie Catelyn Stark.

2. Dany's trip to the House of the Undying.

They definitely messed up the House of the Undying. It would have been super cool to have the actual chapter, including all the prophesies and the undying themselves. I think HBO didn't give that scene the importance it deserved regarding who might be Azor Ahai reincarnated and the "Prince that was Promised." It was just lacking and lame.

3. Jaime and Cersei's falling out.

Jaime finding out Cersei is a massive slag and putting it about for her gains, and him getting really pissed off at her and going off to sort shit out. "She's been fucking Lancel and Kettleblack and Moonboy for all I know!"

4. Daario's multicolor beard.

Daario Nahaaris's (and all the other Tyroshis' now I mention it) multicolored trident-beard!

5. Tyrion and Penny.

When Tyrion meets the girl dwarf while trying to get to Meereen and all the time they spend as slaves. He meets really cool people there and shows all the brutality of the slavers in Yunkai and Astapor before the battle against Meereen.

6. Arya's chance meeting with Sam in Braavos.

When Sam Tarly stops in Braavos on his way to the Citadel. Arya, disguised as Cat of the Canals, recognizes his Night's Watch attire and saves him from some Braavosi thugs. She also gives him the clams/oysters she was selling AND kills his traveling companion who was supposed to make money for food by singing to the locals, but instead got wasted, married a prostitute, and deserted the Night's Watch.

7. Mance Rayder's switcheroo.

When Mance Rayder is switched with the Lord of Bones, magicked by Melisandre to look like Mance so they don't actually burn Mance after all. And how they can do the baby switch so Melisandre can't sacrifice the baby for his king's blood.

8. Varys's last laugh.

And at the end of book five when Varys shoots Kevan Lannister with the crossbow and reveals he's been on the Targaryen side the whole time — amazing.

9. The Aegon reveal.

The Aegon storyline. When you find our Daenerys isn't the last Targaryen it's a completely mind-blowing moment. And it would've meant Jorah wouldn't have got the greyscale!

10. Ser Barristan's, y'know, not being dead.

Honestly I just really wish they hadn't killed of Sir Barristan in the show! Biggest shock and disappointment of my life. He has such an important role in the books and would've made for a wonderful go-between in the show.

11. Arya, possible warg.

Arya's and Jon's wolf dreams! Because Arya hasn't had any of them, along with the lack of references to the giant she-wolf in the Riverlands, I'm afraid they're not getting back together in the show. At least that's something I think is epic enough to happen in the books! Here's hoping!

12. The Lannister brothers' complicated relationship.

Tyrion and Jaime's relationship being torn apart. In a moment of rage after Jaime reveals the truth about Tysha, Tyrion becomes spiteful, insults Jaime, tells him Cersei has been sleeping with other men, and then falsely admits to killing Joffrey. That moment in the book broke my heart because Jaime and Tyrion loved each other, and I'm not sure it can be said that anyone else truly loved Tyrion. And in a few short moments, they end up parting on the worst of terms. The show didn't do that part of the book justice by having the two leave each other on good terms, and then opening Season 5 with Jaime telling Bronn after a slightly lighthearted moment that Tyrion killed his father, and that the next time he sees Tyrion, he'll split him in half.

13. Arianne Martell.

Not so much a scene but entire character, Arianna Martell. She is the heir to Dorne as the firstborn of Doran. In Dorne, women have inheriting rights equal to a man, and that is something I wish they could have touched on. She was a great player in the game and all of her scenes would have been wonderful.

14. Cersei's lesbian tryst.

Arianne! And a sex scene between Cersei and Taena.

15. Tyrion's full role in the battle of Blackwater.

The fact that not only did Tyrion think up the whole wild fire thing in the Battle of Blackwater Bay, but also the massive chain that was pulled up across the bay to stop all of Stannis's ships getting back out of the bay!

16. Strong Belwas!

Put Strong Belwas back in. Of all the supporting characters that they cut from the show, Strong Belwas was the greatest loss.

17. The actual Sansa storyline, y'know, in the Vale, where Sansa is.

I really missed the book's version of Littlefinger's plot for Sansa and the Vale. The part in the books where he asks "Why is Harry the heir?" That entire explanation just shows how deep his political intrigue goes. It was also when I realized how deep the hole GRRM dug for himself is, and it was when I truly began to fear he would never finish writing the series.

18. Tyrion's true motivation.

"Wherever whores go." —Lord Tywin. These are the actual words that led Tyrion to kill his father. They ran through Tyrion's head during almost every chapter he was in. The show discussed his first "wife" (Tysha) in the first season, but drops the ball after that. To me, this was one of the biggest character-development plotlines missed by the show.

19. Dany and Drogo's consensual sex.

Dany and Drogo's original wedding night; in the books, he actually asks for consent and Dany remembers it as a fond memory.
