    The shirts are the result of a partnership between the NBA and the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN), and are available exclusively from Teespring. All the proceeds go to GLSEN.

    It's a pretty big deal, considering American sports have generally lagged behind the general public when it comes to social issues.

    The NBA, NHL, MLB and NFL have created pride-themed merchandise in the past, but this is the first time a league has made pride products featuring every one of its teams available, according to the Washington Post. Moves like this are doubly important for the NBA, which has the youngest audience of all the major American sports.

    But the NBA has been a leader on LGBT issues among American sports leagues.
