What First Date Safety Tips Do You Absolutely Swear By?

Big or small, we want to know what you do to stay safe.

I think it's safe to say that, in the era of dating apps, it's become soooo much easier and more accessible to try ~meeting that special someone~ and going out on dates. Hand in hand with that, though, it also feels like it's become way more dangerous. Sure, your dating pool is bigger than ever before. But so are your odds of meeting some random person who perhaps does not have the best intentions at heart. It's really a double-edged sword.

That being said, there are lots of little things you can do to make yourself feel safer and more comfortable before going on that big first date. And that's where you come in! Do you have any first-date safety tips you swear by?

Perhaps you and your BFF always send each other the name and profile photo of the person you're going on a date with, and check in at the end of the night so the other person knows you're OK.

Maybe you have a hard rule that you'll only meet up IRL with someone from a dating app after talking to them on the phone or on FaceTime first.

Or maybe you always turn the "share my location" feature on before you go on a date, so your friends know where you are juuuust in case.
