Hospitals are on skeleton staff. Public transport has come to a standstill. People are complaining about the lack of infrastructure to deal with the snow. Our fantastically named gritters are working overtime. Geez peace! (Yes, I know this is a parody account, it's still hilarious.)

People are going out of their way to empty the supermarkets of bread and milk. I bet half of them are lactose intolerant and hate toast. All this "The apocalypse is nigh" nonsense is boring and I actually do want milk so stop hogging it all please.

There are hundreds of rough sleepers who are in desperate need of shelter from this storm. Businesses and churches are opening their doors to help accommodate those in need. One homeless man said in an interview that when he goes to sleep "I just hope I wake up in the morning."
This storm is highlighting the mountain of work to be done by activists, charities and governments to ensure no one faces death from the cold while they sleep at night. It's not right and it's not impossible to solve. So let's push them to damn well fix it.
