He’s an ambassador for mental health. One in four people in the world will be affected by mental or neurological disorders at some point in their lives. Around 450 million people currently suffer from such conditions, with many of these going undiagnosed. If you could see mental illness like you can with a broken bone, maybe people would be less ignorant and a bit kinder. The problem is, people don’t understand what they can’t see, and you can’t see mental illness, therefor people are afraid to talk about it. This is where Chris comes in. He’s one of the very few people we have left in this world who isn’t frightened about breaking the stigma. He talks openly about mental health and encourages others to do so, too. With having 200K+ followers on Twitter, that kind of influence goes a long way. I’m on antidepressants myself and I can say first hand that his courtesy and devotion has made my own, and many others’’ battle with mental health a whole lot easier, because we know that we’re not fighting on our own.
