My guess is that you are firmly inclined to the weird and oddball shenanigans of life. With films like ‘Fargo’ and ‘The Big Lebowski’, Joel and Ethan Coen have helped pave the way for unlikely and wonderfully idiotic protagonists in a very cookie cutter world.

Ironically, like a moth to a flame, you are attracted to the dark. The ‘Lynchian’ genre, coined by his cult following, pertains to darkness and offbeat humour. Lynch’s renowned film ‘Blue Velvet’ demonstrates the lurid tendencies of human kind through satire and the gritty underbelly of society.

Well, you probably have a superior sense of humour and need a comedic master like  Waititi to capture its many layers. His films like ‘Hunt for the Wilderpeople’ intertwine social satire with refreshing dry humour.

Jarman’s films can be difficult to digest but if you look past the unconventional time frames and plots you will find originality and beauty. His whimsical sets and unapologetically blunt performances craft a sense of acceptance. If you feel out of place Jarman would’ve created a dreamy film to give you inclusion.

I suspect that you have an inclination for social justice. Spike Lee navigates the tumultuous realities of contemporary society with integrity and rarely seen representation with films like ‘Do The Right Thing’. Unlike many social dramas humour and scintillating music choices are sprinkled throughout.

I think you’re robust and resourceful even if you don’t see it. Jane Campion facilitates protagonists who embody nuanced strength in the face of adversity, as seen in ‘The Piano’. On top of this, Campion’s film settings are fiercely striking and bleakly beautiful, a reflection of her characters.
