What Is The Stereotypical Thing Your State/Country Is Known For Vs. What It Should Be Known For Instead?

Let's set the record straight once and for all.

It seems like every place on Earth has a stereotype attached to it that isn't always true. Perfect example: I'm American, and everyone thinks Americans only eat hot dogs and hamburgers.

But what we should be known for is how easy it is to find literally any type of cuisine (depending on where you live, of course).

So I want to ask you: What's a stereotype your country or state is known for, and what should it be known for instead?

Maybe you're from the southern US and you're tired of everyone thinking it's a "non-progressive" place to live. But you want people to acknowledge its rich history of activism.

Or, perhaps you live in Paris and people assume everyone is rude and unwelcoming. But it should really be known for how willing everyone is to help teach tourists French.

Let us know the stereotypes versus realities of the places you live in the comments below or use this anonymous Google form. Responses may be featured in an upcoming BuzzFeed Community post!
