1. Zahid coaches Sam on how to love.

In the beginning, Zahid and Sam are just coworkers at Techtropolis, and Zahid takes it upon himself to guide Sam's romantic life. As the two become closer friends, Zahid's musings on girls and life take a more realistic turn. At first, Zahid shows Sam how to "steal a girl" and, later on in the season, helps Sam figure out his budding relationship with Paige. These moments demonstrate Zahid's boisterous personality and willingness to make fun of himself to help Sam out. 

2. Sam and Zahid go shopping.

When Sam invites Zahid to go shopping, they end up clashing on what makes a good outfit. Zahid is all for the leather jacket. Sam wants a shirt covered in whales. This moment sees the two friends compromising on their ideas and merging together. (Spoiler: Sam wears the jacket and shirt on a date!)

3. Zahid helps Sam find Paige's missing penguin necklace.

In a show of true friendship, Zahid goes with Sam to search for Paige's lost necklace. This moment is super sweet because Zahid is willing to put aside his own stuff to help his friend out. Adorbs!

4. Sam sleeps over at Zahid's, gets overwhelmed, and runs into the police.

Zahid eventually chases him down once he realizes his "homie" is not there. This particular scene shows Sam's interaction with the police and their lack of understanding regarding autism, and then Zahid stepping in to defend and help his friend. This is a real turning point for Zahid, as he proves himself to be a loyal friend and not just a goofy coworker. 

5. Zahid gets vulnerable with Sam.

After their arrest, Zahid lets Sam in on a secret: Everyone struggles and has setbacks. He wants to become a nurse but was told he couldn't. While we usually see the carefree, funny version of Zahid, this was one of the first times he lets Sam in on another level.

6. When Sam & Co. race to stop Zahid from getting married.

Zahid hasn't always made the best decisions when it comes to love, and Sam steps up, even making a fake Instagram account (@weedboobsanddragons) to find out where Zahid is eloping. It's proof that these two will go to great lengths to help each other out, even when one side can't see it. 

7. Sam and Zahid have their first fight and then journey back together.

The friends hit a road bump when Zahid decides not to take his nursing entrance exam. Sam, of course, fights for his friend to do the right thing and makes sure Zahid gets to his exam on time. 

8. Sam learns to drive just to pick Zahid up.

I don't want to give away any spoilers, but Zahid needs a ride, and Sam volunteers, even conquering his fear of driving just to help his friend out. 

9. Zahid goes with Sam to the doctor.

Sam is terrified of getting his blood drawn, so Zahid steps in, opting to coach Sam through his fear. It's what a true friend would do!
