In this episode, they go back to where it all started, the super freaky Winchester Mystery House in San Jose, California.

Avid fans of the show may remember this was the site of Shane and Ryan's very first paranormal investigation.

The Winchester Mystery House is a whopping 24,000 square feet, with 131 rooms described as some sort of a "puzzle mansion."

As a matter of fact, Harry Houdini toured the house close to Halloween in 1924. He was known to routinely go out of his way to debunk mediums.

For example, a hallway on the third floor of the house is said to be active lately, so the guys placed a static cam there. It picked this up.

Sarah Pardee was from New Haven, Connecticut. She married William Winchester in 1862.

Sarah's father-in-law, Oliver Winchester, renamed his New Haven Arms Company to Winchester Repeating Arms Company in 1866.

That same year, Sarah gave birth to her only daughter, Annie. But the baby died just six weeks later due to malnourishment caused by calorie and protein deficiency.

That's when Sarah moved to the West, and bought 161 acres that would become the ever-expanding Winchester Mystery House.

First, Shane and Ryan decided to go to an attic that used to be on the land that people can now visit.

Besides this bird hilariously scaring the living daylights out of Ryan, they had nothing to report out of the attic.

Next up, the guys decided to hold a séance in the (where else) séance room, complete with candles, a Ouiji board, and a...rice krispy treat?

Which took them to a room filled with stained glass where they remained silent for a whole minute and could've sworn they heard some whispering.

Then they went into a room known as the "Witch's Cap" where they picked up some serious chatter.

A ghost named "Clyde" is said to haunt the basement. So both Shane and Ryan decided to go down there alone for a few minutes to check it out.

While Ryan was down there, he made non-sensical noises and was completely honest with the spirits.

The last thing they did was actually spend the night there. Ryan slept in Sarah's bedroom, where she actually died.

Meanwhile, Shane slept for at least an hour in the Witch's Cap with nothing scary to report.

When sunrise came, they were both ready to get the hell out of there...with still a lot of unanswered questions about the property and Sarah herself.

So for now, the grand mystery of whether the Winchester House is indeed haunted will have to remain unsolved.
