Politicians Are Trousering $60 Million Of Taxpayers' Cash From The Election

    Money, money, money.

    The Australian Electoral Commission will be handing over more than $60 million of public funding to political parties and politicians, in the first of three rounds of payments from the federal election.

    The Liberal party will get $23 million, Labor $22 million, the Greens $6 million, the Nationals $3 million, Pauline Hanson's One Nation $1.6 million, the Nick Xenophon Team $1.1 million and Derryn Hinch's Justice Party will take away more than $544,000 from its first election.

    Despite not being elected, Tony Windsor and Rob Oakeshott will be both paid more than $70,000.

    One Nation's $1.6 million payout means over the course of 20 years Pauline Hanson has received about $7.8 million for running political campaigns.
