Here Are 22 Things I Use Every Day Without Fail

A sunrise alarm clock, holy grail skincare, resistance bands, and more.

    1. A Philips sunrise light that's much less annoying than a beeping alarm and makes waking up early a *bit* more doable. While it brightens my room, it plays sweet sounds (I personally have mine set to waves) that don't make me want to slap it off my nightstand in a fit of rage.

    2. A pair of Bearpaw slippers that *look* like UGGS and are just as comfy, but are much more affordable. They're extra cozy (thanks to the sheepskin lining) and have a thick tread, so I even wear them when I take the garbage out.

    3. A tube of creamy First Aid Beauty cleanser that calms my skin while cleaning out my pores. I've noticed less breakouts since using it and I love that it doesn't leave my skin feeling stripped of moisture.

    4. And a tub of Peter Thomas Roth moisturizer that has helped me get through the winter months without feeling like a parched lil' prune. It's packed with hyaluronic acid for major moisture and it leaves my skin feeling softer and silkier than ever.

    5. A cordless Waterpik that's less bulky than the original and waaay more effective than regular floss. It uses H2O to blast away gross stuff between teeth and below the gum line, leaving me with a seriously clean mouth.

    6. A box of extra-thick poop bags that don't bust open mid-walk (my worst nightmare). They're also odour-blocking so I'm never stuck sniffing anything gross while I search for a trash can.

    7. A cold therapy ice roller that de-puffs my face and wakes me up faster than a cup of coffee. I also use mine to combat migraines and it works better than any pain-relieving technique I've tried.

    8. A Google Nest Hub that I use to control all of my gadgets (via the touchscreen or my voice). I love that I can also use it to watch vids, stream podcasts, listen to music, and Google search.

    9. A pair of claw clips because I never wear my hair down when I'm working, mainly because I'm not a monster. I currently have been swapping between this rectangular style and this butterfly one from Kitsch, but I also love the multipacks you can get on Amazon Canada.

    10. A jar of Pluck Focus tea because I'm off of coffee right now, but I do love a warm bev in the winter. This one is a blend of peppermint, ginger, licorice, and Ontario grape skin — a bit different than your classique peppermint brew.

    11. A stick-on cord organizer with rose gold accents that keeps my wires from slithering under my desk or getting tangled in my drawer. I also love the colour, but it doesn't stand out so much that it looks weird on the side of my desk.

    12. An oil bottle that allows me to get the ~perfect~ drizzle and avoid big glugs. I usually buy those massive Costco bottles of oil that take up a ton of space, so now I keep those tucked away and leave two of these by my stove.

    13. A fleece blanket that I use to transform into a human burrito when I'm curled up in front of the TV. I'm so obsessed with it, I bought a second one (in white) for my bed.

    14. A bottle of Om Organics face mist that's made with rose water, coconut water, and aloe. Not only does it smell amazing, but gives my skin a hydrating lil' oomph (which it desperately needs rn).

    15. A power bar with two outlets and two USB ports because I have a lot of tech doodads and they're somehow always dying on me. This one I keep near the corner section of my couch so I don't have to move to a wall outlet when I'm cocooned in blankets.

    16. A pair of silicone baking mats so that I never have to buy parchment paper again. They keep food from sticking to my pans (without the help of cooking spray) and are super easy to clean.

    17. A Kindle Oasis that has saved me some serious shelf space. I like that you can adjust the brightness when it's dark, but read it without searing your retinas when it's light out, thanks to like paper-like quality of the screen.

    18. A Kilne knife set because good blades are important, people. It comes with a chef knife, a Santoku knife, a bread knife, a paring knife, kitchen shears, and a sharpening steel, and as an added bonus, they're displayed all pretty and perfect in an acacia wood stand.

    19. A set of resistance bands because, honestly, I love the gym, but I don't want to go to there every day. I'm using them specifically to help with pull-ups at the moment, paired with a over-the-door pull-up bar.

    20. An Apple Watch SE that let's me know when I need to stand, tracks how much exercise I've done over the course of my day, and helps me set and reach fitness goals. I also love that it has a bunch of preset programs, like barre and HIIT, so it can recognize what movements I'm doing.

    21. My Ninja blender that I use to make soups, sauces, salad dressings — you name it. The blades aren't weak, either. They can crush through ice and nuts in seconds without jamming.

    22. And finally, a tub of the cult-favourite Laneige lip mask that has saved my lips from feeling like sandpaper. I love that I can wear it as a mask overnight or as a heftier balm during the day when my lips are totally parched.
