Sure, you’ll find lots of those (delicious carb anyone?), but there will be much more to discover. There are plenty of “secondi” like fish and meat.

2. Bring cash.

Cash is going a long way in Italy. Most restaurants won't accept credit card for bills under a certain amount. Cash is just easier, trust me!

3. The train will most likely be late.

The view will make it all worth it.

4. Water won't be free at the restaurant.

Unless you specifically ask for tap water. (be aware, your waitress won't be happy about it)

5. An empty restaurant doesn't mean it’s bad.

Locals eat pretty late and they usually won’t go to the restaurant before 8. If a place is open before then, it's most likely for tourists.
