You may have noticed Tori Spelling's been rocking an eye patch lately — and she's finally explaining what happened.
It turns out that Tori is dealing with an eye ulcer, and while it will hopefully heal within a week, she says the whole thing was preventable.
"It’s so silly, it’s my fault, I did this to myself," Tori said during the latest episode of her 9021OMGpodcast.
She continued, "So I have contacts, but I have the daily ones, and at the end of the day, kids…whatever…I can make all the excuses I want, I don’t take them out, I sleep in them and it’s not healthy."
And not only does Tori sleep in her contacts but she admits she keeps them in for weeks at a time!
"Seven weeks," she joked, quickly adding that she was exaggerating. "But I’ve been known to go maybe 20 days. I know you, guys, it’s shaming. I tell my eye doctor, I’m completely transparent."
Tori's eye doctor told her that she was "lucky to get away with it" and stressed that her eye injury could have been much worse based on her contact-wearing habits.
"I got lucky this time. I’m not going to take it for granted, it’s huge," Tori said. "Forget work, but to mom with one eye. Not OK because moms have to literally hear and see everything happening at one time and I cannot."
As for what she's learned from this experience? Tori says she's definitely "going to switch to 30-day" contacts when her injury heals.
