It turns out we've all been mispronouncing Taylor Lautner's last name for the past two decades!
While Taylor has been kind enough to let it slide, he's finally clarifying how to actually say his name.
During an appearance on The Unplanned Podcast with Matt & Abby, Taylor explained how everyone ended up pronouncing Lautner incorrectly.
"It is my fault that nobody knows how it's actually pronounced because I never corrected anybody for decades," Taylor admitted.
He explained that it probably all goes back to when he was just a kid and didn't want to say anything about it in interviews.
"When I was 11 with Sharkboy and Lava Girl, I wasn't going to tell people they were pronouncing my name wrong," he said.
Taylor went on to share that Lautner is technically pronounced "Lowt-ner" and not "Lawt-ner."
"It is technically 'Lowt-ner.' But I just never, in interviews or anything, stopped someone and said, 'It's not 'Lawt-ner,' it's 'Lowt-ner,'" he shared.
And despite the majority of people saying it wrong, Taylor doesn't seem to mind.
"I just go with whatever. I don't care," Taylor shared.
This isn't the first time Taylor's last name has caused a commotion either.
While it made headlines at the time, it seems as though people have continued to mispronounce his name — so he's setting the record straight!
