Mae Whitman Just Revealed She Is Pansexual And Exactly What That Means For Her

    "It means I know I can fall in love with people of all genders."

    Mae Whitman is proud to share that she's pansexual.

    The actor opened up about her sexuality while discussing her Disney Channel animated series The Owl House.

    The show, which features both lesbian and bisexual characters, has been commended for its LGBTQ+ representation.

    Mae, who voices Amity Blight, took to Twitter to praise the show, which is currently in the middle of its second season.

    "Just taking a moment to say I am SO proud to be even a small part of a show like The Owl House. Being pansexual myself, I wish I had such incredible characters like Amity and Luz in my life when I was growing up. Queer representation is sososo important," Mae tweeted.

    For those unfamiliar with the pansexual label, Mae went on to share resources and explain what it means to her.

    "For me it means I know I can fall in love with people of all genders. This is the word that fits me best 🌈 and I’m proud+happy to be part of the Bi+ community," Mae wrote.

    Mae previously opened up about her sexuality back in 2014, when she was asked if she had a "type" when it came to dating.

    "It's constantly changing. I just like people. I like everyone. I see so much wonderful potential in everyone that I meet, and there's always something to learn from," Mae told Glamour.

    She continued, "I think girls are attractive, I think boys are attractive, I think old people are attractive, I think young people are — I appreciate everything and everyone."
