Hypothetical Macbeth Quiz

The witches did not say in their prophecies ("Thane of Glamis...Thane of Cawdor...king hereafter" (1.3.51-53)) how you will become king, and because they would not talk again when you asked them to "Stay...and tell [you] more" (1.3.73), you have to come up with the way of obtaining the throne yourself. What would you do?

Pretend that you are Macbeth:

The morning after you kill Duncan, the others who are staying in your castle are talking to you as they figure it out (Act2.Scene3). How would you act around them and what would you do?

The witches said to your best friend, Banquo, that his children will be the king after you (1.3.68-71). You suddenly remember this one you have secured the throne. You want your kids to be king because you want your family line to remain royal. What would you do?

How do you react to the news of your wife's death?

The three witches speak to you again.
