Ask Me, A Person Diagnosed With Panic Disorder, Anything You've Always Wanted To Know About Anxiety

I'm 100% open.

Hey, y'all! I'm Alexa, and after seeing a few specialists, I was diagnosed with panic disorder in late 2014.

When I was younger, I was repeatedly reminded that over 40 million adults have an anxiety disorder and I'm far from the only one, but I often wondered...where are they? 'Cause no one was talking about it. And I had important questions, like:

How do you find a therapist who is affordable for someone with a low income?

Or how do I talk to my partner about my anxiety and the possibility of night terrors? (Such a sexy sleepover mood killer. 🙄)

And, on the flip side, how can you help your partner while they're having a panic attack?

Or one of the most unfortunately common questions I've been asked: How do you handle parents who are stuck in a different era and think you're just being dramatic?

If you have any questions you want answered from someone who navigates anxiety, I am 100% open. Drop your question in the comments or via this anonymous Google Form, and you could be featured in an upcoming BuzzFeed Community post!

NOTE: Everyone's experience with anxiety and anxiety disorders are different, and I can only speak from my own experience.
