It’s a universal fact that cake makes everything better, so when Chris Holmes decided to call it a day with his job at Stansted Airport, he iced his resignation letter on a cake. Funnily enough he was quitting to start a baking business… handy eh?

For many bosses, their car is a status symbol. So, in 2017 when a Mercedes E-class turned up in Leeds, UK daubed in graffiti such as ‘up yours I quit’ and ‘stick ur job up ur arse’ it caused quite a stir. Pictures of the car went viral with thousands of the cities workers relating to the perpetrator. All was not as it seemed though, as this was later revealed to be a stunt by Multilotto

When an Aussie web developer wanted to quit his job to pursue a career in independent game development he showed his mettle by creating a bespoke version of Super Mario Bros. Mashed up with his own game, Polychromatic Funk Monkey, an ‘I quit’ message appeared at the end of each level.

When James Purnell resigned from the UK Government Cabinet, he aimed to take the top dog down with him, urging then-PM Gordon Brown to resign too with the infamous lines:

“I owe it to our Party to say what I believe no matter how hard that may be. I now believe your continued leadership makes a Conservative victory more, not less likely....

Alaskan news anchor Charlo Greene was faced with a conflict of interest when she was reporting on the ‘Alaskan Cannabis Club’ which she was in fact the owner of. Going off script, live on air, she said "I, the actual owner of the Alaska Cannabis Club, will be dedicating all of my energy toward fighting for freedom and fairness, which begins with legalizing marijuana here in Alaska. F*ck it, I quit”.

The camera then cut to a shocked looking colleague who apologised for the bad language.

Jet Blue employee Steve Slater turned the air blue after an incident on a flight he was manning left him at the end of his tether. The flight attendant was said to have yelled at an entire plane over the tannoy, grabbed a beer and rode the evacuation slide to the runway. His antics earned him a visit from a police SWAT team but he was still smiling.
