19 Bollywood Movies That Are SO Bad, They're Hilarious When You Sit Down For A Rewatch

    We've all seen a fair few Bollywood movies that are so atrocious, that they make you get up and leave mid-way, because you cannot put yourself through the torture of bad acting and a ridiculous plot. Well, I'm here to tell you about some more absolutely horrible movies that are best left untouched. They are so awful, you'll be laughing out in frustration. You can put these on your "must never" watchlist or, maybe, your "I-am-so-drunk-I-can-do-this" watchlist.

    🚨 Fair warning! This post contains SPOILERS if you haven't watched these *cough* gems before. I would advise against watching these, frankly, but, you do you.🚨

    1. Karzzzz (2008)

    This movie is a solid example that no matter how many "ZZZs" you add at the end of the remake of an OG movie, it will still be crap if Himesh Reshammiya (the actor) has anything to do with it! Overdramatic speeches and ridiculous dialogues made this one an unintentionally funny watch! Tandoori Nights still slaps, though.

    2. Humshakals (2014)

    This movie made me roll my eyes to the point of a throbbing headache. The entire "three-pairs-of-identical-looking-people-who-somehow-get-entangled" premise is ridiculous to begin with, and then references to it being a "slapstick comedy" made me squirm in discomfort. If you don't mind second-hand embarrassment, watch this one!

    3. Prem Aggan (1998)

    Prem Aggan can certainly not be counted amongst the more remarkable movies of its time. Firstly, it is ridiculously long with mind-numbing dialogues and over-the-top acting, and secondly, the second half of it is just...SAD! Not an emotional kinda sad, but a "wow-this-is-such-a-badly-made-movie" kinda sad, which is also laughable. Well, at least it makes us want to 🎶EXERCISE!🎶!

    If you like pain, please give this "haseen dard" a chance.

    4. Jaani Dushman: Ek Anokhi Kahani (2002)

    Twenty minutes into the movie, a bride turns into a skeleton and kills the husband. Another woman is almost molested in a girls' hostel but is saved by Sunny Deol. The entire school then gangs up on this poor woman and coerces her to forgive her attackers because, "Ladkon se toh galti ho jati hai" 🙄. That was the last straw for me and exactly when I shut it down...I frankly didn't even want to get to the shape-shifting snake part! Maybe you will. Good luck!

    5. Radhe (2021)

    This is another addition to the Salman Khan slate of action films that suffer from a hero complex. It is an utterly unremarkable piece of work, and that's all I have to say about it. This movie was almost as bad as 2020 and 2021 combined.

    6. Himmatwala (2013)

    I think I seriously lost a few braincells while watching this one. The movie will take you back to the dark ages of Bollywood with every horrible and cliched trope that has been done, like, a million times. Even if I had to watch this movie to save my life, I would choose to die.

    7. Jodi Breakers (2012)

    If you're planning on completely wasting a few hours of your life, I would ask you to go ahead and watch this film. But if you value your time, I'd suggest you stay far, FAR away from this movie.

    8. Welcome To New York (2018)

    I expected more from Sonakshi Sinha and Diljit Dosanjh because they're both good actors! Or maybe it's just how bad the script, dialogue, and humour in this movie collectively were that I wanna ask — WHY? Just why?!

    9. Ram Gopal Verma Ki Aag (2007)

    Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag is a supposed sequel to the legendary Sholay but doesn't compare one bit. Also, no one clearly gave the title much thought, considering the other ways in which it can be interpreted...The entire movie has ridiculous "trippy" cinematography and follows a plot that is pretty ambiguous. I'll call this one a snooze-fest for sure, but it's hilarious when you're drunk.

    10. Desh Drohi (2008)

    It's a cringe-fest, y'all. This one was physically painful to watch and the complete lack of originality or any form of talent from KRK made me want to rip my eyes out. It also made me LOL when I was totally not supposed to LOL. I pitied the female lead who clearly looked like she was trying her best to keep a constipated smile on her face and get the entire movie over with, ASAP. Can't blame her! (Although I sincerely hope she's not labelled #2rsppl).

    11. Race 3 (2018)

    This one is like any other bhai movie that has cheesy and nonsensical dialogues, impossible action sequences, awkward dancing, and the most ridiculous plot twist ever. Also, since it's a Salman Khan movie, expect a good dose of "sanskaar" and "parivaar" lines added to the mix. After all, bhai dil mein aate hai, samajh mein nahi.

    12. Drona (2008)

    A pronounced chip in Abhishek Bachchan's career, Drona was the one movie he said he regretted filming. And we can definitely see why. This was a time when overacting was thought to be cool, and the VFX were certainly lacking. I will now proceed to go wash my eyes and clear my mind after having watched this one!

    13. Baaghi 3 (2020)

    Aah, another headache — another plot filled with testosterone-y and senseless action sequences instead of, you know, an actual storyline. This movie was made purely for Tiger Shroff to show off his acrobatic skills and his chiselled six-packs. (I don't think he likes wearing shirts, tbh).

    14. Love Story 2050 (2008)

    This movie literally had me shouting "What?!" at almost every scene, it was THAT absurd. Also, where is the logic? The lead character's girlfriend dies, so he insists on travelling into the future (his uncle has a time machine) instead of going back in the past to save her, and ends up meeting her reincarnation. He then tries to get this girlfriend 2.0 to fall in love with him. It's a great film to re-watch when you just wish to burn your braincells.

    15. Student Of The Year 2 (2019)

    Do I even need to say anything? Judging by how unimpressive the first movie was (despite the flourishing career(s) it gave its leads), this one takes the annoying factor up a notch. I was practically wincing with embarrassment at every scene! Do you like torturing yourself? Watch it, in that case!

    16. Namaste England (2018)

    This movie is full of plot holes and wrong messages that no one would (or should) fall for. Firstly, who even thought of making a sequel to Namaste London, which was mediocre at best? But no, they wanted to ruin it even further with the "strong-willed and selfish wife who defies her husband" trope. It plays out like any other Indian sanskari cliche, where the female lead is determined to a fault but, eventually, the male lead guilts her into apologising to him about how she was "wrong" and how "love triumphs". Frankly, they should've burned the script halfway through writing it! Also, has no one heard of passports and heightened border security, in this movie?

    17. Khaali Peeli (2020)

    It's a bland movie with horrible acting, a predictable plot, and it didn't throw anything new my way to appreciate it in the least. I honestly started regretting my decision midway. Khaali peeli annoy kiya!

    18. Mastizaade (2016)

    I have no words for this one...except maybe — EWWW! Forget the movie, only the three-minute trailer is enough to make you absolutely uncomfortable and grossed out! Disgusting adult humour, inappropriate innuendos, racist jokes, unnecessarily sexualised body shots — even for a sex comedy, I don't know how this one even passed the censor board! CRINGE.

    19. Tees Maar Khan (2010)

    If illogical comedy scenes and overacting gave birth to a child, it would be this movie. Also, throw in item songs like "Sheila Ki Jawani", a weak script, no plot whatsoever, and some incredibly flat dialogues, and you get a recipe for disaster. This will definitely make you laugh-cry in frustration! 

    There are many more of these cringe-worthy and truly excruciating movies out there that I couldn't fit into this article, which you may or may not agree with. If you can think of any more, tell me in the comments!
