It can be daunting, emotional and exciting but it will help make the transition into University life as enjoyable as possible for you. By going too all the fairs and evening events, you will meet new people and make lots of new friends

2. It's perfectly normal to feel homesick!

If you do ever get overwhelmed or feel really homesick, pop in to the Students' Union and speak to our colleagues in the Advice Centre as they are trained to deal with these types of issues and more. Or, if you'd prefer pop in for a chat with your Student Officers who are students like yourselves and have been through it all themselves.

3. Just be prepared to answer the same question again and again.

'so where are you from?', 'what course are you on?'

4. Know your bank balance otherwise this could be you…

If finances and budgeting is not your strong point, make sure you pay the Students' Union Advice Centre a visit as they can help you with budgeting.
