Okay, okay, I guess some things really are worth the spend.
I'd nearly given up on this (frankly gross) baking tray and tried this well-reviewed cleaning powder as a last resort. It was easy to use – I just placed it into the tin and scrubbed until the stains had gone before rinsing the grime away!
Price: £4.29.
This kit is handy because it tackles everything from your oven's racks to the inside of the machine itself! You can use the extra-strong bags to soak the racks (we'd always leave them on the sink's draining board while we went about the rest of our work), and you can wipe the inside of your cooker with the rest of the formula. I'm not sure exactly what makes this stuff so powerful, but I do know that it makes wiping off grime, grease, and burnt-on food incredibly easy after a couple of hours!
Price: £7.99.
You can't always sweep or brush away stubbornly-ingrained hair before you start cleaning, so these TikTok-famous tools are a great way to *truly* clear your soft furnishings before you start scrubbing.
Price: £4.99 for two.
Almost every home I cleaned had some degree of mould – it's just part of living in a colder, wetter country. This fast-acting spray from cleaner-approved brand HG is seriously effective, and it's super easy to use too! Just spray it onto any affected surfaces, wait for about half an hour, and wipe it away to reveal a mildew-free surface underneath (ugh, so satisfying).
Price: £7.25.
NGL, the first time I saw these in our storeroom I thought they were a little gimmicky – but having used them for everything from soap-encrusted sinks to doors and walls with worked-in grime, I've been forced to take it all back. They only need a little water to work their magic!
Price: £8.98 for ten.
I'm a huge fan of how easy this stuff is to use – you can just spray it onto any stains and then leave it to dry (sorry, but that's EXACTLY the amount of effort I'd like to expend on every cleaning task). It'll banish any odours and discolouration, even if the stain is really tough – check out the reviews section to see some seriously satisfying before-and-afters!
Price: £6.99.
I usually couldn't care less about brand names, but when it comes to actually *cleaning* the most important thing is suction power – and Henry hoovers win out every time. This Turbo one packs a seriously powerful motor and comes with various heads to tackle everything from your carpet to your car!
Price: £185.99.
It works on ceramic, glass, and metal! Apply the solution to the desired area twice and wait for it to dry before buffing the surface with a dry cloth — it'll repel dirt and water for up to three months.
Price: £10.82.
Ever since my dermatologist recommended CeraVe's hydrating cleanser for my dry, acne-prone skin, I've been addicted to its ceramide-packed, barrier-rebuilding formula. It's helped to heal dehydrated, almost-flaky skin while also banishing my ever-present spots, so I understand why my derm insisted that there's really no point buying anything pricier – when in comes to cleansers, the simpler, the better.
Price: £8.00.
Like CeraVe's cleanser, it contains barrier-repairing ceramides which ensure that the moisture in your skin stays put. I've been using my tub for a few months now and have noticed a visible difference!
Price: £13.00 for 454g.
It's not that heavy makeup never looks good (I enjoy a MUA-level, full-glam beat as much as the next NikkiTutorials lover), but there's something so fresh and clean about the minimal base/glowy blush/gently-pigmented lip makeup style that's been doing the TikTok rounds recently. No wonder this daytime-worthy blush, lip tint, and eyeshadow stick from e.l.f. is so ridiculously popular, then – its creamy finish and angelic shimmer looks great across the entire face and adds a sort of dewy, eight-hours-of-sleep finish that customers love.
Price: £4.75 – it comes in four shades.
This insanely cosy hoodie blanket became my favourite item of clothing about 0.007 seconds after I tried it on. It's machine-washable, has a huge snack-worthy front pocket, and basically transforms every surface you sit or lie down on into a bed (yes, please).
Price: £12.99 — it's one size fits all and comes in five colours.
It's brought my already-dry lips back from the verge of a mid-cold draught, which isn't surprising considering its rave reviews. Customers say it's helped their lips through intense stressors, like surgery and skin conditions (fine, I guess my sniffle isn't the toughest dilemma this intensive product is designed to tackle).
Price: £6.60 for 10ml.
I don't know about you, but I get into this awful habit of making the same three meals over and over again throughout the week. Somehow, though, I feel like this stuff makes all of them feel ten times more ~gourmet~, and just a little bit goes a really long way too – its spicy, aromatic taste and perfect texture is unmatched, IMO.
Price: £5.78.
It'll stay firm in cold water to tackle tough stains without scratching your dishes, and it softens up in warmer liquid for lighter washing – it's the best purchase we've made for our constantly-crowded sink.
Price: £2.50.
If you've got a lot of hair, you'll understand how hard it can be to work shampoo right into your scalp. This inexpensive brush solved that problem for me — its flexible bristles reach all the way down to my roots, and their massaging effect is really relaxing! I also find that I get much more volume after using this (and despite my initial concerns, it doesn't tangle my tresses at all).
Price: £4.99.
It's got a super-fine nib that's perfect for creating hair-like strokes, and there's a handy spoolie on the other end too. I have a scar in one of my eyebrows that it covers seamlessly, and it's water-resistant too!
Price: £8.00 – it's available in eight shades.
I just do not know how I lived without this stuff. It gives my foundation a silky-smooth base to stick to, it fills in my pores, and it truly does make my makeup last all day – in short, it belongs in your basket yesterday.
Price: £9.00.
You know that amazing feeling you get when the scissors enter 'glide' mode while you're cutting wrapping paper? Yeah, that's more or less how I imagine using these would feel (which is much better than my current cardboard carnage situation).
Price: £3.96.
I can never tell if I'm using the tube wrong or if the manufacturers have some secret toothpaste-dispensing method in mind that they haven't shared with the rest of us, but somehow, that gross, gritty cap-turn crunch always becomes part of my morning routine about a week after I buy some new toothpaste. These silicone alternatives seem like a much smarter option, IMO. Their handy nozzle dispenses liquid in a slow, even line, they screw onto any standard tube, they seal themselves, and reviewers reckon they've helped to prevent waste too. I ordered mine midway through writing this caption.
Price: £4.99 for three.
My flatmates and I don't know ourselves since we got this low-hassle robovac. Who are we? Quasi lords and ladies who sit in our rooms all day while an earnest, try-hard robot servant zooms quietly around our home, mopping our kitchen floor and banishing any traces of the outdoors from our hallway? Yes, apparently! And despite my initial skepticism, I don't think I can ever go back to the old ways – there's just something so nice about not having to face sticky lino every time I go into the kitchen for my WFH break, and this gadget does a much better job at cleaning than our busy household could achieve on the daily anyway.
Price: £349.99.
You know those TARDIS-level clothes that make you think "there's no way I'm getting into that" when they're on your bed, but somehow fit perfectly on? Yeah, that was the case with these yoga shorts – and considering how helpful its tight-but-not-uncomfortable compression is while I'm running or doing squats, I'm sort of glad they're so, IDK, squeeze-y(?).
Price: £11.20 for size M – they're available in sizes XS-XXL and come in three colours.
It's ridiculously easy to use – just chuck your coffee beans into it and press down the little latch on its lid. The metal bowl wipes clean with a couple of swipes of a dry microfibre cloth, meaning you'll only have to wash its lid (I used to use a French press religiously, but realistically, I'm not going to clean all its fiddly parts every day – I've been a Hario V60 convert for months now).
Price: £29.99.
It attracts the moisture in the air to keep it away from your windows and prevent them from fogging up! My coworker used hers continually for over a month before she had to 'reset' it in the microwave for the first time – pretty good going, right?
Price: £7.95
At this point, I am literally the only person in our shopping team who hasn't bought an air fryer – and given how often my colleagues rave about theirs, I reckon that's set to change pretty soon. After all, the impossibly crunchy, crispy food I've seen it produce with little to no oil has been seriously impressive, and it takes much less time than a regular oven too.
Price: £99.99.
Their breathable material doesn't have that sticky, plastic-y feeling you get with so many other sweat-wicking options – in fact, they look and feel more or less the same as cotton (until you feel their cooling effects in the gym, that is). I love their office-ready scoop neck and loose-but-not-baggy fit – they're also true to size!
Price: £17.22 for two black ones in a size M – they're available in sizes XS-XXL and come in ten colour combos.
