What work related activity is the most appealing?

Lifeguards spend their time out in the sun keeping a watchful eye on the patrons at the aquatic facilities. They are responsible and prepared to provide emergency care. Safety is at their forefront, but this relaxed group knows how to keep calm and cool. The Aquatics staff offers lifeguard certification courses and trainings to keep their skills sharp.

“Welcome to the Rec!” Customer Service Representatives (CSRs) are an outgoing group that welcomes patrons to the recreation center. No fear of talking to strangers here – you can make conversation with just about anyone walking through our doors, and that’s why this position would be a good role for you. They manage access to the gym, equipment checkout, and handle guest passes. This enthusiastic group strives to make University Rec & Wellness feel like home for new and returning patrons.

Member Services Assistants (MSAs) are professional and personable workers who operate the front desk to the office. Resourceful, knowledgeable, and great salespeople makes you a great MSA. They sell memberships and are prepared to answer questions about University Rec & Wellness. They are polite and patient as they help patrons find what moves them.

Fitness Attendants (FAs) are a helpful bunch. They keep the recreation center clean and ensure patrons have a safe workout. Your helpfulness, attention to detail, and work ethic make you a perfect “fit” for this position! FAs are vigilante at maintaining the fitness equipment to allow everyone a chance to enjoy their workout. Need a spot? They can also step in as a spotter for heavy lifts to help patrons reach that PR – gains for DAYS!

Adventure awaits, and you’re ready for it! RecVentures Assistants are a welcoming group that enjoy teaching others about outdoor activities. They manage equipment checkout at the Waterfront and handle financial transactions. You do not have to be outdoorsy. They will train you to be prepared to help others get setup with camping equipment, bikes, and watercrafts.

There’s no “I” in “team”, but we see YOU in the position of a Sports Official! Sport Officials work as a team to manage a variety of sports while having fun doing it. They lead with integrity as they call a fair game for everyone. No officiating experiences is necessary to be a part of this team because they will teach you sports such as basketball, flag football, soccer, and volleyball.

Your creative spark is strong, making you the perfect Marketing Developer! This group does more than just snapping selfies by the pool. They develop and design marketing materials, coordinate social media posts, take photos and create awesome videos to promote the amazing facilities and programs of #URecWell! They help University Rec & Wellness tell their story to promote all their great facilities and programs.

Personal fitness is a passion for you, making the Fit Fam a likely “fit” for you! Personal Trainers and Group Fitness Instructors are an energetic group that are passionate about teaching others about being health and activity. Though having a certification is preferred the Fitness staff tries to offer certification courses throughout the year. This motivated group supports others on their fitness journey and are always looking to improve.

You’re quite the communicator, making you the right person for the Peer Educator position! When you talk, people listen and with good reason – you have something valuable to share, just like our Peers! This group provides health and wellness information to other students in fun and engaging ways. Known to be empowering advocates, Peer Educators can speak on various health topics to help students make informed decisions for their own personal wellness.
