Demi Lovato Finds Spirituality During Trip To Israel: "I've Never Felt More Renewed In My Life"

The 27-year-old singer and actress recently spent time in the land of Israel.

In the world of celebrity travels, embarking on a pilgrimage to Israel seems to be the hottest place for beloved icons to vacation and absorb the rich history and sights that the country has to offer.

This summer alone, folks like Sarah Jessica Parker, Jennifer Lopez, rock group Bon Jovi (the singer and the band were there to perform back-to-back concerts in Tel Aviv) and Hailee Steinfeld have been amongst many to vacation there, with more expected to come in later months.

And it looks like one more famous face has just popped up in the Holy Land.

Singer and actress Demi Lovato - best known for hits like “Skyscraper” and her breakout role in the Disney Channel film “Camp Rock” - recently posted photos to her Instagram page about her trip to Israel.

And it seems like it was a experience necessary for spiritual growth.

“There is something absolutely magical about Israel,” the 27-year-old captioned on Instagram about her recent excursion. “I’ve never felt such a sense of spirituality or connection to God… something I’ve been missing for a few years now.”

Among some of Lovato’s activities: being baptized at the Jordan river, praying at the Western Wall, visiting the Yad Vashem Holocaust Museum, and playing with some children at the Shalva National Center, a place that she praised as being “an amazing center for children with special needs.”

She concluded her experience by saying how special the trip was for her.

“This trip has been so important for my well-being, my heart, and my soul,” she wrote on Instagram. “I’m grateful for the memories made and the opportunity to be able to fill the God-sized hole in my heart. Thank you for having me, Israel.”
