Listen, We Need To Stop Lying To Ourselves And Admit That Some Colors Of The Rainbow Are Superior To Others

Seven colors enter, but only one can be crowned queen of the rainbow.

7. Indigo

Sorry, indigo, but you're last. Unsurprising, since indigo is the most forgettable color in the rainbow.

Not quite blue, not quite purple, not quite worth my time.

6. Orange

Great fruit, not-so-great color. It's unflattering in many shades, both as clothing and as home decor. But if you've found an orange that works for you, great! That's a rare find.

5. Yellow

A bright, happy color...but arguably too happy? Plus, lemons, which is known as the main yellow fruit, can't be eaten as-is, so the color gets points off for that.

4. Blue

I wanted to rank blue higher, but I had to dock some points because blue is the color of sadness.

If you look past that, blue is a rather nice color, bringing us the sky, the ocean, blue raspberry Jolly Ranchers...and bringing itself into fourth place.

3. Red

Red is passionate, which is great when you're on its good side. After all, who doesn't love love? But, when you're on the other end of the spectrum? Well, that sucks.

Other items bringing red into third place: apples, rubies, and "read" as a homophone.

2. Violet

The color of royalty, but not quite queen of this list. Still, violet makes it into the #2 spot thanks to violets, irises, lavender, and a whole other list of things that aren't flowers (shout out grapes!).

The color of life has to be number one. Trees? Green. Grass? Green. Money? Green. (Because yes, money is a life force too, unfortunately.)

Where would we be without green? In a drought, that's where.

Green isn't just the color of life — it's the color of survival. That's why it survived to make its way all the way to the top!
