Alright, so if you're reading this you are/have been called/feel like a bitch. It's cool.

We're all bitches here, but why?

I can't tell you how many times I've been called a "bitch" at this point. People just keep on calling me it. Why? Who knows, at this point some collective definition apparently fits me. Chances are it fits every single person who uses the word too. I may be a bitch, but I'm not the only one.

What makes a bitch a "bitch". Who knows. Men use the word against women, women use it against women, I use it for anyone who cuts me off in traffic.

Let's look at my *theories* on why I keep getting called one. Is it that I don't like to be told what to do? That I'm opinionated? I'm too critical? I'm petty, judgmental, too honest, too mean? Is it that I'm a Capricorn? All of the above, but zodiac signs aside, who else isn't most all of these thing?

Do I care?

Nope. I'm so desensitized to the word "bitch" as an insult. Plot twist: since whatever age this word starts being used against young girls to now, it tends to lose it's effect.

Obviously, name calling is meant to hurt feelings. When someone says "bitch", though, now I hear "strong, bossy, independent, confident, unstoppable".

One of many celebrities supposedly known as a bitch. Let's put this in perspective, though. Rihanna is incredibly successful, a versatile performer, stylish, unapologetic, and cares deeply for her fans. If Riri is a bitch, I sure as hell am tryna be too.

I'm convinced whether you say what you want or are fake and say the opposite, you're going to get called a bitch. If we let the fear of this word hold us back, we're not going to get anywhere. Being true to yourself is energy efficient. I'm trying to hustle my way to success so I'm going to need that energy for other things. Sorry, not sorry.

Sorry to my non-female bitches out there, with this one I'm working with what I've got to make sense of it all. Nicki again nailed it when she said, "When I am assertive, I'm a bitch. When a man is assertive, he's a boss". Honestly, it seems like a lot of the time what we're calling a "bitch" is women who won't sit down.

People can clapback, can beat me down, can call me a bitch but I'm not changing myself. I have friends, a significant other, and real as hell family who still put up with me. So am I a bitch in general, no, you just can't handle me. You don't have to either, move aside, my bitches and I are simply trying to get past you.

If you're a real bitch, I've got your back. Especially, if you're a fellow bitch on the rise. Do what you need to do to get where you aim. The feelings of others are fragile and if you've been hurt by the word bitch, know I have been too. Not anymore, though. Not for a while, since there's all these "bitches" to look up to showing that it pays off. Whether we're on the same side or not, I'll respect the hell of of you.
