Cory McCloskey was just trying to get some nice audio of the tuba from the marching band at Desert Vista High School, when he accidentally lost his mic in there on live TV:

He had some trouble getting it out of the instrument, which actually isn't a tuba, but a sousaphone...
...But after some gymnastics, he was able to retrieve it.
