    How To Say 'Hello' In 9 Different Languages

    On a recent trip to the beautiful seaside town of Marmaris, Turkey I was very impressed to see all of the shop owners switch between different languages as they greeted customers from different countries. Of course, you need the practice to speak fluently or basic but 'Hello' is a start.

    European Languages

    1. BONJOUR - FRENCH

    Understood in France, Belgium, Switzerland, Canada, Cameroon, Benin, Burkina Faso and many more countries...

    2. HALLO or GUTEN TAG - GERMAN

    Understood in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.

    3. CIAO - ITALY

    Where to say it: Italy

    4. ZDRAS-TVUY-TE - RUSSIAN

    Appart from Russia it can be understood in Kazakhstan, as a large population can speak Russian Fluently.

    5. MERHABA - TURKISH

    Turkish is open in Turkey and Cyprus. Also spoken in parts of Iran and Georgia

    6. SZIA - HUNGARIAN
    Mostly on spoken in Hungary, however, parts of Austrian have Hungarian speakers.

    Middle East & Asia

    1. MARHABA - ARABIC

    Spoken in a lot of countries. Spoken in: UAE, Western Sahara, Yemen, Sudan, Syria, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Mauritiania, Libya, Oman, Palestine, Qater, Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Chad, Egypt, Eritea and Chad.

    2. NAMASTE - HINDI

    In India, this is an Offical Language alongside English. Also, you can find a large number of people speaking Hindi in Nepal, Fiji, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Singapore.

    3. Swasdi - Thai

    Mostly only spoken in Thailand.
