Buddha’s Footprint

Enshrined in a temple on a hill near Samui Butterfly Garden, lies what is believed to be a footprint of Buddha. The pathway to the the temple is not all that clear, so if you happen to be staying at a Samui resort or hotel nearby such as Anantara Bophut Koh Samui Resort, try asking your front desk for precise directions before you head out.

Kunaram Temple

At this temple you’ll find surprisingly a well-preserved mummy of one of Thailand’s most revered monks, Loung Pordaeng. You might at first wonder if the sunglasses are some sort of sick joke, but the temple has explained that they do serve a purpose, dried-out eyeballs not being a pretty sight and all.

Wat Sila Ngu

Head to this temple to get a glimpse of some of the best Buddhist-style architecture around. Many of the works here are over a hundred years old. As the beach is pretty close by, you’ll also be able to enjoy great views of the sea from here.

The Chinese Temple, Maenam
