Thanks Todd, I got really distracted when I started thinking about insect taints and I totally missread the article. I'll update.

Um Andy, the article says that ladybug taint “is caused by chemicals called alkyl-methoxypyrazines that accumulate in wine both from grapes themselves and from remains of ladybug beetles crushed when grapes are processed.” The box that's being discussed removes that taste.

I don't like wine, but I do like Indian names. Chief Ladybug Taint it is!
