mistyr5 2 months agoFor all the Twilight fans insisting that those who dislike it have never read the books - I couldn’t get past the first blatant misuse of ‘chagrin’! The writing is horrible and filled with purple prose so vibrant, I expect it to start glowing! Vocabulary words are misused to a redundant level, and there are heavy stalker overtones in it. It’s not a love story, it’s a stalker winning over the submissive emotionless ‘prize wife’. I forced myself through the first chapter, then had to put it down and pick up some real literature to save myself from an aneurism. For the record, chagrin is not exactly equivalent to embarrassment. It is very specifically the embarrassment you feel after being chastised … chewed out, since chagrin is so difficult to properly understand.

lisamm2 a year agoI would totally prefer to live in the United States. My ancestors came to this country to build a better life for themselves, to prosper, brought their culture, religion, and traditions here to never forget where they came from. I’m proud of them for their achievements, sacrifices, hard work and determination. This country was built by immigrants, and established by those looking for a better way of life. We should never forget what hardships and joys they had while emigrating to this country. So, yes, I believe the United States is a better country for me to live in. I don’t believe necessarily that the United States is better than England, it’s just a personal preference. I love the state I was born in, Massachusetts is one of the most liberal and forward thinking states in the Union. So, don’t forget where you came from, and NEVER forget the ultimate sacrifice of those in your family who fought prejudice, religious intolerance, famine, and loss of civil rights to come to the United States to build a better life for themselves, and their future generations.

peterricharde a year agoIve lived in both places and saying which is better is impossible. British TV and movies are better in my opinion and certainly their actors are “more professional”. American sports are better. But, there as here I tend to have friends with an IQ higher than their blood temp,.

Brian H. a year agoI have lived overseas before and would love to live in the UK for a spell but after a while you need to go back to the US. You miss so many little things like decent pizza (it doesn’t exist overseas), a good steak or hamburger (european beef sucks), mexican food, shops being open on the weekend, weird hours for shops/pubs in general, not getting killed crossing the street because you look the wrong way. There are loads of good things in the UK and Europe in general so I’m not hating but any American that has spent time overseas kisses the ground when they get back.

Lady Emberheart a year agoShould’ve used the only way is essex instead of the geordie shore, it’s far more popular… So popular it won a BAFTA. Seriously, I’m still so bitter it beat Sherlock. Sherlock doesn’t know the configuration of the solar system because he has to make room for his genius, Joey Essex doesn’t because… He’s stupid.
